- The Lang Family
Frank Ames, Owner of Cedar Ridge Arabians. Age: 75.
Frank is the brains behind this business, none of this would have been possible without his drive and determination to see his dreams play out and with of course the love and encouragement from his wife Norma. Frank has established himself as one of the industry's most successful English Pleasure and Driving division trainers. He has displayed his talents and proven his abilities countless times by winning more than 40 National Championships and Reserve National Championships and over 150 Top Tens with his horses when he was competing. Frank has now passed the reins onto Sierra, to carry on the Ames family success. Frank can now be found relaxing on the porch with a good book, Norma by his side, and a rewarding view of round, in-foal mares in the pastures in the distance. |
Sierra Carson, Farm Manager. Age: 23.
Ever since Sierra was a little girl everyone knew that she had inherited the passion that her mother and father both shared for the Arabian horse. Little did she know that she would be overseeing an expanding company at the young age of 23; "it was a dream come true, and I am grateful everyday." says the 23 year-old. As the Farm Manager, she deals with the farm as a whole, from the Stallion complex, the Broodmare barn to the show horses and lessons; this girl looks after it all. Of course she has to have some help along the way whether she likes it or not, there is a team standing behind her every step of the way. Sierra looks forward to continuing the legacy that her father began many years ago. |
Whitney Salvatore, Breeding/Broodmare Manager. Age: 32.
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Whitney Salvatore was bred into the sport of showing Arabian and Half-Arabian horses. She is the daughter of the late Earl Salvatore, a former Arabian and American Saddlebred judge/breeder. So she is no new-comer to the high powered Arabian English Pleasure, Park and Country disciplines. Whitney is in charge of our Broodmares here at Cedar Ridge Arabians. She works along-side Rick Wesley, our Stallion Manager in discussing future breeding possibilities. Whitney resides on the main property on which the Breeding/Broodmare barn is located. This ensures that she can spend as much time as needed to tend to the mares and foals. If you book a visit with Whitney and come by the Breeding barn, you too will see that this is her passion. |
Richard Wesley, Stallion Manager. Age: 39.
Beginning in his early teen years, Rick started showing Arabian horses and fell in love with the breed. Shortly there after, he got an opportunity to work as a groom at a local Arabian farm just outside of San-Francisco. He quickly earned himself an amazing reputation in the broodmare barn by having an eye for a great stallion and mare combination that would produce outstanding foals. He prides himself on extensive knowledge of Arabian and Saddlebred bloodlines, and has demonstrated an enormous talent in selecting specific that match well with certain mares. Shortly there after the opportunity arose that our last Manager for "the boys" unfortunately retired. However, fortunately for Cedar Ridge Arabians, we are now proud to call Rick the head honcho over in the Stallion barn. Rick is the guy to talk to regarding a possible breeding to one of our fine sires, or if you would just simply like to come and have a look at the possibilities and set up a further consultation. |
Brian Stachowski, Trainer/Consultant. Age: 50.
Brian joined Cedar Ridge Arabians in the year of 1992 and their training program has grown significantly since this talented trainer joined. Brian is very versatile in a number of disciplines, whether it be, English Pleasure, Park, 5-gaited or Hunter, he offers his expertise in both training and showing at the National level. "I decided to join Cedar Ridge Arabians because of the tremendous quality, talent and potential of their horses." Brian reflects, "As well as the quality, talent and potential of the Ames' themselves." Besides working with the Ames' and their horses, Brian's presentation, his horsemanship and his care of the Arabian horse is clearly second to none. The net result of this is a show contender with talent, confidence and longevity and a raft of glowing testimonials of trainers that have ridden after him and at the end of the day, a trainer who can take you and your equine friend all the way to the winners circle. |
Tom Moore, Assistant Trainer. Age: 23
Tom Moore became a part of the team in 2000 and has proven himself to be a wonderful asset. Tom has grown up riding Arabian horses and apprenticed under a number of other training facility's. He is known for his patience with amateur and youth riders and giving amazing lessons. One of Tom's great strengths is getting young horses started on the ground and undersaddle by taking a relaxed and calm manner which allows horses the opportunity for success in the show ring. John and Brian work together . Tom is showing all of the potential it takes to be a great horse trainer and excel in the English Pleasure divisions. Tom is excited to continue watching all of his training pay off in future championships to come. |
Brooke Jarvis, Groom. Age: 20
Brooke has been with us for quite some time now, she is known for her ability to keep the horses looking their very best. Keeping the clients horses and the stallions, mares and foal in pristine condition is not easy. Starting the groundwork with the young foals; haltering, touching and other basics. Brook is also part of our show team, she and her two horses compete every year with the rest of the Cedar Ridge Arabian show team. Brooke is an invaluable asset to the farm, her work never goes unnoticed. |
